Position Summary
Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and personable Volunteer Manager to lead one of the most vital areas of our organization—our volunteer program. Volunteers are the foundation of NTRC, contributing thousands of hours each year to support therapeutic riding lessons, equine care, administrative projects, and special events.
The Volunteer Manager is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervising, and recognizing volunteers while maintaining accurate records and fostering a welcoming, team-oriented culture. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a people-first mindset. The Volunteer Manager also serves as a visible ambassador for NTRC, building connections with volunteers, rider families, staff, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Program Management
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive volunteer program aligned with NTRC’s needs.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records in individual files and in CERVIS, NTRC’s database.
- Schedule volunteers across all program areas, ensuring proper coverage.
- Ensure all volunteers are screened, onboarded, and trained to PATH Intl. standards.
- Step in as a side walker or horse leader when needed.
Recruitment & Engagement
- Implement recruitment strategies through outreach, tours, events, and partnerships.
- Lead orientations, continuing education sessions, and volunteer focus groups.
- Collaborate with marketing to collect and share volunteer stories, photos, and testimonials.
- Provide regular communications such as newsletters and role-specific updates.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support individual and group volunteers.
- Provide coaching, clear expectations, and constructive feedback.
- Address conflicts with professionalism and empathy.
Recognition & Retention
- Develop year-round recognition and appreciation initiatives.
- Conduct volunteer surveys and exit interviews to strengthen retention.
- Plan and facilitate the annual volunteer appreciation event.
Data & Reporting
- Track and report volunteer hours, demographics, and service areas.
- Evaluate the volunteer program annually and recommend improvements.
- Assist with volunteer-related budget planning and supply management.
Organizational Support
- Attend staff and committee meetings as assigned.
- Support NTRC fundraising events, community programs, and outreach.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in volunteer management.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years volunteer management or program coordination experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Nonprofit and/or equine experience strongly preferred.
Certifications
- CPR, First Aid, and AED preferred (training may be provided if not current).

- Experience with volunteer management software (CERVIS or similar) preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This position is based on-site in Naples, Florida.
- Requires availability for evening and weekend events and engagements.
- Occasional travel within the region for volunteer meetings or events.

PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI)
Naples Therapeutic Riding Center in Naples, FL is seeking Part-Time Therapeutic Riding
Instructor to teach children and adults in individual and group Equine Therapy lessons.
Candidate Must:
- Be PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI).
- Be an effective communicator and team leader.
- Be available to work weekdays and weekends.
- Be a self-starter and able to step into a working system seamlessly.
- Be capable of lesson planning and execution with the ability to incorporate grooming and tacking.
- Be a keen observer and knowledgeable of equine behavior
