What is TROT?

TROT is a clinical practice that includes the purposeful manipulation of equine movement to engage sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive systems to achieve functional outcomes. In conjunction with the affordances of the equine environment and other treatment strategies, TROT is part of a patient’s integrated plan of care.

In 2018, Naples Therapeutic Riding Center integrated TROT services on its campus through partnerships with Physical and Occupational Therapists. At this time, NTRC does not take requests for TROT services. Those engaged in the TROT program are patients of OTs, PTs and SLP.
