After devoted service, we are proud to announce the upcoming retirement of two cherished herd members: Blanca and Delta.
Blanca, a 2007 Argentinian Thoroughbred mare, joined the NTRC herd in May 2024. Previously a competitive polo horse, she found her way into our barn after being adopted from Replay Polo, a nonprofit dedicated to second careers for horses.
Delta, a 2000 American Paint Horse gelding, arrived at NTRC in 2022. Originally trained as a talented ranch horse, he competed in barrel racing and other western events before transitioning into his new role as a therapy partner. With a kind eye and intuitive demeanor, Delta proved almost immediately that his greatest strength was his ability to connect with people.
Together, these steady and gentle partners have helped riders take meaningful steps toward healing, strength, and confidence. Their contributions to NTRC are beyond measure. Now, it’s time to honor them with a secure and peaceful future.
Blanca and Delta will transition to Camp Rusk, a horse retirement ranch in Texas, in mid-August. There, they’ll enjoy peaceful pastures, loving care, and the company of other NTRC alumni including Bella, Bear, Snickers, Tiger, Fancy, and Pablo.
We invite you to visit Blanca and Delta at NTRC before they depart on August 17, 2025. Whether you’re a rider, volunteer, or longtime friend of the herd, this is a special opportunity to say goodbye and honor the hoofprints they’re leaving on our campus.

NTRC continues to support our horses long after their final ride in the arena. If you’d like to help, please join us for Hoof & Hike, our annual poker run event raising funds for the care of retired herd members at Camp Rusk. The 2026 event will take place on January 18, 2026.
