Naples Therapeutic Riding Center’s Kentucky Derby Party Sets Event Fundraising Record in 2025
Naples, FL – May 14, 2025 — Naples Therapeutic Riding Center (NTRC) proudly announces that its 2025 Kentucky Derby Party was a resounding success, raising more than $230,000 in support of its equine-assisted therapy programs. Held on Saturday, May 3, the sold-out event welcomed more than 160 guests to NTRC’s scenic campus for a lively afternoon of Derby-themed celebration with a powerful mission at its core.
Guests enjoyed live coverage of the Kentucky Derby, interactive games, signature drinks, and a highlight of the evening—a live therapy horse auction. Each of NTRC’s herd members represented a real contender in the Kentucky Derby, and supporters “bid” on their favorites for a chance to win prizes while directly supporting the center’s therapeutic services and giving patrons a stake in the race.
“The Kentucky Derby has always been about more than a race. It’s about legacy, spirit, and the bond between horse and human. And that same energy lives right here at NTRC,” said John Wapelhorst, Board of Directors President.
“I am incredibly proud of the dedication and collaboration that made this year’s Kentucky Derby Party a record-breaking success. It was a true collective effort, driven by the passion and commitment of our volunteers, staff, and committee members. Most importantly, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our donors, guests, and sponsors. Your generosity doesn’t just support our work. It empowers NTRC to provide life-changing equine-assisted services to those who need them most.”
Funds raised will directly benefit NTRC’s programs, helping children and adults with physical, social, and mental health needs find strength, confidence, and healing through interactions with horses.
