Karen Flounlacker
Karen moved to Naples from Lancaster, PA in 2000. She emphasizes the beautiful weather when asked why she came here. She started volunteering at NTRC after she retired. Her husband, the notorious Mike Flounlacker, convinced her to join him in spending some of her free time giving to the Naples Therapeutic Riding Center mission. Since then, we have seen Karen weekly (often, daily). Karen is a sidewalker turned cat wrangler, kitchen first mate, and social butterfly. Karen loves to travel and love on her fur babies. Her favorite part of volunteering at NTRC is seeing the exhilaration on the faces of the riders when they trot during lessons.
The NTRC team chose to spotlight her this month because of all the help that Karen provided us as we providing the AHA course to 10 therapists from around the country. Without Karen, those would have been some hungry therapists. Thanks for all you do!
